How long does one treatment take?

The duration of the Fraxel® DUAL treatment depends on the area being treated. For example, facial treatments typically take 20-30 minutes, while eyelid treatments may take just 5-10 minutes. To ensure comfort, an anesthetic cream is applied to the skin 40-60 minutes before the procedure begins.

How many procedures must be done? Is there a result of one procedure?

The full treatment course typically consists of 4-5 sessions, spaced 3 weeks to 1 month apart. While you will notice visible results after the first session, completing the entire course ensures the maximum effect and long-lasting skin rejuvenation.

What areas can be treated with a Fraxel laser?

What are the sensations during the procedure?

How will my face look right after the procedure and the day after?

Swelling may increase slightly the following morning but should subside within 2-3 days. The redness can last anywhere from 3 to 4 days, depending on your skin’s individual reaction and the intensity of the treatment.

What should I do after the procedure?

No special medical skincare is required after a Fraxel® treatment. However, your doctor may recommend specific cosmetics or topical treatments to help accelerate the healing process and reduce redness more quickly.

For the first month following the procedure, it’s important to protect your skin from UV rays. Be sure to apply sunscreen with SPF 50 whenever you go outside

What shouldn't I do after the procedure?

mmediately after the Fraxel® treatment, avoid using products with irritating properties on the treated areas, such as alcohol-based lotions. For at least two weeks following the procedure, refrain from any treatments that could traumatize the skin, including peels and dermabrasion.

What kind of reactions occurs after Fraxel treatments?

According to a study by Emmy M. Grabber* and others, the following reactions are possible after Fraxel procedures: acne (acne) - 1.87%, facial herpes - 1.77%, post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation - 0.73%, erythema lasting (more than 4 days) - 0.83% and oedema over 2 days - 0.62%. All of these reactions are possible with a properly performed procedure, and they all resolve safely within a month.

It's important to note that these reactions are far less common than with traditional laser resurfacing methods, such as CO2 and erbium lasers, where similar side effects occur dozens of times more frequently. If you're planning additional volume-enhancing surgeries, be aware that new stretch marks may form due to changes in skin tension.

How Harmful are Fraxel eyelid procedures to my vision?

How long after the filler is injected can I have a Fraxel procedure?

Fraxel® treatments can typically be started 2-4 weeks after the injection of fillers. This allows sufficient time for the filler to settle and minimizes any potential complications.

Can Fraxel be used to get rid of expression lines and crow's feet around the eyes?

While anti-wrinkle injections are typically used to correct expression lines, Fraxel® can effectively complement this treatment. Fraxel® helps to even out skin texture in areas where static wrinkles (such as crow's feet) have already formed, providing a smoother, more youthful appearance.

Can I have Fraxel treatment if my face and nose have a vascular network?

Broken capillaries and spider veins are not contraindications for Fraxel® treatment. However, Fraxel® primarily targets skin rejuvenation, including smoothing texture and improving skin color, but it does not effectively treat deep blood vessels like those seen in spider veins or broken capillaries.

For treating broken capillaries or spider veins, we recommend IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) therapy, which is more effective for targeting and reducing vascular issues.

Why can't I stay in the sun for 3 months after my Fraxel procedure?

After a Fraxel® procedure, your skin undergoes increased metabolic processes as it heals and rejuvenates. If your skin is exposed to UV rays (from sunlight or tanning beds) during this time, there is a higher risk of developing pigment spots or hyperpigmentation. To protect your skin and ensure the best results, it's essential to avoid sun exposure for at least 3 months following the procedure.

Avoid direct sunlight, and use sunscreen with SPF50 or higher to prevent the appearance of pigmentation.

How long is the effect after 4-5 Fraxel treatments? How soon can it be repeated?

The exact duration of the effect after 4-5 Fraxel® treatments can vary, but the results typically last longer than just a few months or a year. Fraxel® rejuvenates your skin and makes it look younger, but it doesn't "stop the aging process". After completing the treatment course, your skin will appear rejuvenated, but it will continue to age naturally over time, based on factors like lifestyle, genetics, hormonal status, and skin care habits.

To maintain the results and slow down the aging process, leading a healthy lifestyle and taking proper care of your skin can help extend the effects. While the skin will age in the same way it did before, the improvements from Fraxel® will last longer for those who take care of their skin.

If you wish to repeat the treatment, it's typically safe to do so after 6-12 months, depending on your skin's condition and needs.

We recommend all patients, after 4-5 treatments, have one or two maintenance procedures a year.

How do you know if you are being offered treatment with a non-original Fraxel machine?

To ensure you're receiving treatment with an original Fraxel® device, pay close attention to the markings on the equipment.
